About Us

We are dedicated to bringing innovation and imagination to education through the arts. We believe that creativity and critical thinking are essential aspects of the development of a child and that failing to develop every child's creative capacity diminishes all of us. When the arts are integrated into the educational lives of our children, their diverse intelligences and learning styles are valued and enhanced and they learn more effectively.

Arts-Integration School Performances will introduce new worlds and new perspectives, teach core curriculum content, and reinforce Standards of Learning.

Arts for Learning Literacy Programs will dramatically improve literacy skills, reading motivation, and knowledge and help teachers develop innovative strategies for connecting with the unique intelligence profile and learning style of each child.

Early Childhood Arts Programming will help brains develop appropriately through creative enrichment activities and prepare children for school with reading readiness residencies based on the Emmy Award winning TV program Between the Lions'.

Art-Centered, After-School Care will provide a safe place for children to explore affirmative options for identifying as learners, creators, and communicators during a critical time of their lives.

Workforce Readiness through the Arts will teach dynamic communication skills, enhance children's global creativity and problem-solving capacity, and allow them to explore arts business options.

We provided over 1750 hours of arts-integration programming and reached nearly a quarter of a million children in Virginia.

Children need arts for learning. It sparks their imaginations and feeds their minds. It improves their academic performance and encourages them to stay in school. It connects them to their families, their cultures, and their communities. Research has proven these benefits again and again. Even the Virginia standards for teacher training and education now require that teachers be able to integrate the arts across the curriculum. Still, the number of children in Virginia who have consistent access to quality arts experiences and an arts-integrated curriculum is woefully small.
