Donate to Young Audiences • Arts for Learning
You can make a difference in the lifelong learning of a child by helping us provide more arts resources.

A generous gift like yours brought this father and daughter together.
Young Audiences • Arts for Learning • Virginia is committed to strengthening the role that art plays in helping to enrich learning and life for all children throughout Virginia. We are asking you to help us raise funds to expand our services to effectively reach teachers, children, and schools with few resources. We want all 1,878 schools in Virginia and the 1.4 million children in them to experience the kind of arts experiences that enhance learning and expand creative capacity.
Your financial support translates directly into programs and services for children. You make it possible for us to:
- work with artists to develop new performances aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning that support and enrich student learning across the curriculum.
- develop and implement new Arts for Learning Literacy Services that are designed to dramatically improve students’ reading, writing, and communication skills.
- expand our services for young children by offering exciting new programs that increase reading readiness and provide the kinds of creative opportunities that help young brains develop in preparation for school and life.
- offer after-school programs that allow young people the opportunity to develop an identity for themselves as “cultural creatives” (people who create rather than just consume culture) through pursuits like photography, acting, ballroom dancing, recording, or learning to play musical instruments.
- create innovative new programs that help students become dynamic and effective communicators by integrating theatre and visual art training with storytelling.
Your generous donation:
- Makes it possible for YAV to present over 1,500 arts service hours a year
- Enables us to present music, dance, theatre, and visual, and literary works that exhilarate and enrich the lives of students and teachers.
- Allows us to reach more than 225,000 children (PK-12th) and educators a year through our arts for learning performances, workshops, trainings, and residencies.
