There are several ways to help fund arts programming at your school.
Here are a few suggestions:
- Schools Sponsors
Do you have a company or bank which has "adopted" your school?
YAV can co-write a grant to that institution to seek partial or
complete underwriting of a project.
- PTA
The PTA of any school has the ability to generate funds for arts
projects. Let us help you discover fund-raising tools to bring
YAV to your school.
- Grants
YAV will write or co-write grants to foundations, corporations
and other agencies. Call us for details.
- The Virginia Commission for the Arts
The VCA offers funding which may support:
1. School-based artist residencies
designed to reinforce curriculum-based arts instruction provided
by a school or school division conducted by eligible professional
artists.
2. Professional development
opportunities for teachers and artists.
3. Innovative classroom
projects which integrate the arts into non-arts classroom curriculum.
4. Supplemental art enrichment programs
for schools and the communities they serve.
Grant awards are distributed
through competitive processes involving statewide review panels
or on a first-come, first served basis, depending upon the program.
For information about application procedures,
paperwork and eligibility, please contact Tatjana Franke Beylotte,
Arts In Education Coordinator of the Virginia Commission for the
Arts at 804-225-3132.
